Blueberry Pie

Local blueberries are now in season.

Baked my favourite blueberry pie.
The recipe comes from an old Canadian Living Magazine (Early '80's.)

All butter crust
leaves cut free-hand

Decorated the edge of pie crust with leaves.

Blueberry Tart/Pie
I've made this recipe for years. I think it was from an early 1980's Canadian Living Magazine.

4 cups fresh blueberries
3/4 cup sugar
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
milk, sugar
pastry for double crust  (recipe)

 Line pie plate with pastry.

Mix together blueberries, 3/4 cup sugar, flour and cinnamon (if using), lemon juice and melted butter; pour into pie crust. Cover with pastry and cut a few slashes in top; or cut pastry into strips and prepare lattice top. Seal edges well and flute. Brush lightly with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake in 425°F oven for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 35o°F and bake about 40 minutes longer or until crust is golden.

  1. The leaves make a gorgeous presentations.

  2. I make this one too sometimes..I love Canadian Living..renewed this year and am happy i did..
    Your pie is lovely!

  3. Oops.
You mention lemon in the ingredients but in the instructions there's no mention of when to add it. So it was forgotten.
Probably woulda tasted better with it. Can you please add for future use?
First pie ever in oven now; fingers crossed.

  4. Hi Tanyapazzy, thank you. I fixed it. Hope you like the pie.
