Made from leftover Prime Rib.
I love French Dip/Beef Dip Sandwiches.
But the beef has to be sliced very, very thin.
The only way to get beef this thin is to
bring out the "Machine".
I have had this commercial slicer for going on 20 years.
Bought when we lived in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
It was bought for one task - to slice paper thin slices
of the best homemade Italian Salami I have ever tasted.
Rick's homemade Salami was worthy of having it's own machine.
Because it is a pain to clean, I only pull it out when only it will do.
Sandwiches served with Au Jus and homemade fries.
Jacques loves his slicer so much he brings it to Fl:-) with his prosciutto:-)
ReplyDeleteLooks delish Ann..
I had my first beef dip when I moved to Alberta. Every restaurant had it on the menu. It is comfort food epitomized.
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful it would be to have a slicer! French Dips are heavenly! I just made French Dip sandwiches with our leftover tenderloin...I may need to cook another just to have sandwiches!
ReplyDeleteI had leftover prime rib as well and also made French Dip sandwiches. I still had more meat left so I used it in a Mexican meal of tacos--really special and wonderful!
